What My Clients Say About Me
Anna’s Counselling & Psychotherapy Approach
Life is a miracle. Life is beautiful. Life is joyful.
And… Life is messy. Life is complicated. Life is hardship.
And hardship feels like suffering.
But as someone said, “Hardship is inevitable. Suffering is optional.”
What does that mean?
Hardship cannot be eliminated from our experience of life. But suffering – which is our response to that hardship – can be lessened.
What does suffering look like? Fear, anxiety, worry, stress, frustration, pain.
What worries you? What pains you today? What do you fear? What keeps you awake at night? From what are you seeking relief? What suffering do you want to lessen?
Whatever it is – difficult decisions, strained relationships, self-doubt – I can help.
How?
It’s a two-prong approach.
- Together, we will look at the causes of your suffering and make sense of them, undoing the patterns of thinking and behaving that no longer serve you. As a result, you will feel lighter and make decisions that will lead to better outcomes for you.
- We will work to build up your inner resources so that no matter what life throws at you, you are able to weather the storms with grace and breath. As a children’s story teaches us, houses built not from straw or sticks but brick can withstand storms. That is what I can help you do: fortify your inner house so you can stand strong in the face of adversity.
What qualifies me to be your guide on this journey? I have been where you are now, having studied the process personally, academically and professionally. I would be honoured to accompany you on your journey – if you wish to take it.
